Credit Reference Agencies

In considering your application we or our financiers will search your record at credit reference agencies. They will add to your record details of our searches and this will be seen by other organisations that make searches. Searches will also be made in respect of directors and partners of firms applying for credit. Information held about you by the credit reference agencies may already be linked to records relating to other people with whom you have a financial association. In connection with your application you may be treated as financially linked with them and assessed with reference to any such associated records.

If you are a joint applicant or if you have told us of some financial association with another person, you are declaring that you are entitled to:

  • Disclose information about you, the joint applicant and anyone referred to by you
  • Authorise us to search, link or record information at credit reference agencies about you and anyone else referred to by you

It is important that you give us accurate information. We or our financiers will check your details with fraud prevention agencies and if you give us false or inaccurate information and we suspect fraud, we will record this.

These records will be shared with other organisations and used by us and them to:

  • Help make decisions about credit and credit related services; and
  • Trace debtors, recover debt, and prevent money laundering and fraud.

Fraud prevention agency records will also be shared with other organisations to help make decisions on motor and credit proposals, for you and members of your household.

Please telephone us on 01423 228280 if you want to have details of those credit reference and fraud prevention agencies from whom we obtain and to whom we pass information about you.  You have a legal right to these details.

Sharing your information with others

We will keep information about you and about your agreement on our database. We may pass information about you and your agreement to anyone we have appointed to help administer your agreement, to your credit insurer for administration, claims handling and fraud prevention (which could include passing it to other insurers), to insurance companies or to recover amounts owing or to anyone to whom we transfer the agreement.

Interest-Based Online Advertising and Google Analytics

This section of our privacy notice provides details about interest-based online advertising (also called "targeted advertising", “remarketing”, or "behavioral advertising"), Google Analytics, and your choices with respect to this type of advertising.

We use Google Analytics’ 3rd-party audience data, such as age, gender and interests, to better understand the behavior of our customers and work with companies that collect information about your online activities to provide advertising targeted to suit your interests and preferences. For example, you may see certain ads on this website or other websites because we contract with Google and other similar companies to target our ads based on information we or they have collected, including information that was collected through automated means (such as cookies and web beacons). These companies also use automated technologies to collect information when you click on our ads, which helps track and manage the effectiveness of our marketing efforts.

You may opt out of the automated collection of information by third-party ad networks for the purpose of delivering advertisements tailored to your interests, by logging into your Google Account and visiting your Privacy Settings. Because those opt-out and preference control pages are specific to the individual browser used to visit it, and because that page is not operated by Synergy Automotive, we are unable to perform the opt-outs on your behalf.

How we use cookies

Cookie Policy

Our website and online services, along with most other websites, use cookies and similar technologies. For the purpose of this policy, 'cookies' and 'similar technologies' will be referred to collectively as 'cookies'.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files containing pieces of information that websites can store on your computer's hard disk. Cookies enable users to navigate around the website and (where appropriate) allow us to continually improve the website and make it more efficient to use on future visits.

We use two types of cookies on this website:

  • Session cookies are temporary cookies that remain on your machine only for as long as you are on the website and are deleted after each visit.
  • Persistent cookies, which remain on your machine until expiry or deletion (many of these have automatic deletion dates). Persistent cookies may store your personal preferences, for example your language preferences on multi-lingual sites. They may also be used to record activity you may have previously completed, such as completing an online survey, so that you are not asked to complete the survey every time you use the site.

How we use cookies on our website

We use some 'strictly necessary' cookies within our online services. These are limited to those deemed essential to provide you with the services you have requested, for example "the shopping basket and checkout", and therefore must be allowed to continue with that service.

In addition we use cookies to:

  • Collect anonymous information that will help us understand visitor browsing habits on our website; compile statistical reports on website activity, e.g. number of visitors and the pages they visit; and in some cases, remember information about you when you visit our site. We may need to do this to provide some of our services.
  • We sometimes use third parties to assist us in the analysis of visits to and performance of our website, but no personal information is collected and no personal information is sent to the third parties for this purpose.
  • We do not use cookies to track your use of the internet after you leave our site, nor do we use them to store any personal information in them that others could read and understand.

Changing your cookie settings

You can block any cookies from any website through your browser settings. For more specific information about how to do this and how to manage cookies to suit your preferences, including deleting those that have already been added to your computer, please visit www.aboutcookies.org.

If you share the use of a computer, accepting or rejecting the use of cookies will affect all users of that computer.

Consent to cookies

If you continue to use this site without disabling cookies we will take that as your consent for us to place cookies on your computer. Please remember if you do disable cookies then some parts of our website may not work properly and you will not be able to use some of our services.
